Exam Performance 2019

Our congratulations go to our pupils as they have performed extremely well, with 74 per cent of pupils achieving a standard pass of grade four in both English and maths and 49 per cent achieved a strong pass of grade five in English and maths.

These excellent headline figures are testament to the hard work of pupils, staff and the support of parents.  We are pleased and proud as these results reflect the school’s focus on ethos, attendance and parental engagement.

Exam Performance 2018

Our high achieving pupils performed exceptionally well, with 20% achieving at least one grade 9. This is the new grade awarded to only 2% of pupils nationally.  In English and maths in particular, 15% of pupils achieved a grade 9-7 in both subjects compared to 10% nationally.  This was a 10% increase on the previous year’s results.

47% of pupils achieved the DfE’s new gold-standard benchmark of Grade 9-5 in both English and maths. This was an increase of 11% on last year’s figures and is now the fourth highest figure in Swindon.  This is well-above the national average of 40% and the local authority average of 39%.

The Grade 9-4 measure in English and maths is the equivalent of the old A*-C benchmark. Our pupils achieved 70% this year, well above the national and local averages.  An impressive 82% of pupils achieved a grade 4 or above in English and 74% of pupils achieved a grade 4 or above in maths.

Across all subjects, pupils’ progress has improved on average by almost 1/2 grade and is now in line with national average progress.
