A welcome from the Principal

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school.

As Principal of Abbey Park since 2016, I am proud to lead our school in providing the highest possible standard of education. Our aim is simple – for all pupils to enjoy a memorable time in our community and to achieve their true potential. As a member of the Park Academies Trust, we move from strength to strength to achieve this goal for everyone in the North Swindon Community. We are a learning community where pupils, parents, staff and governors work together to forge a healthy and creative environment for learning and personal development.

Enabling pupils to perform at their highest level – across a range of fields – is at the heart of Abbey Park. This is achieved through high quality, engaging teaching which is delivered by a well-qualified and professional team. A combination of innovative and established teaching methods, as well as modern technology, is harnessed to personalise learning experiences. The work that takes place in the classroom is the cornerstone of our success and our staff are passionate, enthusiastic and consistent. We encourage pupils to become increasingly independent learners as they progress through the school and they are well supported by a wealth of intervention initiatives and individual mentoring.

Abbey Park School is a unique community in which young people, of every talent and aptitude, are nurtured in order to thrive. We deliver on our high expectations of all pupils. Our commitment to capture every child’s strengths and turn their ‘Potential into Performance’ is made possible through the dedicated support of an experienced pastoral team. This ethos is encapsulated in our ‘Abbey Park Proud’ motto through which we engender the key learning behaviours of Presentation, Respect, Organisation, Understanding and Determination. As pupils learn – and often lead – these behaviours, they leave our school as mature and responsible citizens who go on to make a positive contribution to our country at a local, national and international level.

Abbey Park School is a modern and stimulating learning environment with excellent specialist facilities. This privileged environment allows our young people to learn, but also to enjoy their school experience and make the most of their talents. State of the art sports facilities, well equipped music, drama and art suites and up to date technology gives all community members the means to fulfil their potential. When this is enhanced by parental support and excellent attendance, pupils flourish - whatever their starting point.
